XBIZ Berlin 2016: Day 2 Report

XBIZ Berlin 2016: Day 2 Report

BERLIN — The second day of XBIZ Berlin’s inaugural webmaster conference and its popular educational series concluded on Tuesday, with attendees making the most of the online adult industry’s newest autumn event.

Presented by TrafficPartner and its family of leading industry brands, XBIZ Berlin runs from Sept. 11-14 at the Catalonia Berlin Mitte Hotel on 80-82 Köpenicker Strasse, bringing adult industry leaders together  from around the world for learning, networking and special social events.

Among the day’s highlights was an early morning tour of TrafficPartner’s Berlin offices, where attendees received a presentation on the company’s various verticals, which include billing, cams, dating, paysites, plus a performance ad network, and more. The 30 or so tour participants were provided with food and beverages and took away the message that TrafficPartner’s mission is to offer a comprehensive package of products and solutions for the European market.

TrafficPartner also sponsored a “ladies only” WIA Power Brunch, which brought together leading female executives from international markets for information sharing and networking.

With a mission to unite, inspire and empower female businesswomen working in the adult industry, Women In Adult has a long history of supporting the behind the scenes executives through annual workshops and social gatherings designed to offer an uplifting environment for women to cultivate relationships, explore business opportunities and to inspire one another — which they did at XBIZ Berlin.

XBIZ Berlin is more than just canoodling over crumpets, however, with an intensive educational series sponsored by NETbilling that features the industry’s most experienced experts providing their latest insider insights on current ways of generating and monetizing internet traffic and more.

Ratcheting up its seminars and workshops, XBIZ Berlin’s schedule received a remake, when for the first time the educational sessions were divided into targeted tracks that focused on key industry segments.

While Monday’s seminars explored the live cam market and working with ad networks, Tuesday’s slate of sessions focused on the latest in webmastering and internationalization.

The sessions were preceded by a special legal panel that featured U.S. attorney J.D. Obenberger in a discussion with attorneys Daniel Kötz of Düsseldorf and Rechtsanwalt Marko Doerre of Berlin; as well as by a virtual reality roundtable with RubyVR’s Michael Donohue, Terpon’s Jean-Claude Artonne, AliceX’s Fabian Frey, and HoloFilm Productions’ Anna Lee, discussing VR content production and marketing.

In keeping with the cosmopolitan makeup of XBIZ Berlin’s global audience, a special educational track was dedicated to internationalization, with four sessions that explored the current state of the German market for adult entertainment, along with the latest geo-targeting best practices, top techniques for localized billing, and a workshop devoted to bridging international markets.

Up first, XBIZ Berlin’s expert panelists detailed the current state of the “German Market,” with TrafficPartner’s Simon Stock, Ines Petersen from Affil4you and moderator Matt Mund from Mobius Payments, outlining the secrets to success in this vital European marketplace

Next, Supermen’s Douglas Richter, Marissa Ataliotis of PussyCash/ImLive, and Ines Petersen from Affil4You, along with Slavomir Hruska from Adult Translations as moderator, took a look at the newest “Geo-targeting Best Practices,” and revealed how to cater to consumers from different regions.

“Localized Billing” techniques were highlighted in an executive session with Epoch’s Frank Gannon, NETbilling’s Mitch Farber, CCBill’s Gary Jackson, Matt Mund from Mobius Payments, Eva Zankel from Webbilling and featuring MojoHost’s Brad Mitchell as moderator; with Mitchell returning for the next session, “Internationalization,” accompanied by TrafficPartner’s Michael Reul, JuicyAds’ Alex Lecomte, Ines Petersen from Affil4You, Dan Leal from Immoral Productions and Steve Winyard from ICM Registry serving as moderator, as the group examined the top strategies for establishing international relations.

Running concurrently, the targeted webmastering track focused on current best practices, as well as the latest traffic building and affiliate marketing tips, plus new trends in webmastering, and more, capping off the event’s educational series through a final round of roundtable workshops.

These workshops included a look at “Website Best Practices” with Kenny B. from Your Paysite Partner, Too Much Media’s John Mauser, and CherryPimps’ Jack Avalanche. Kenny B. was also on hand for the next session, “Building Traffic,” along with GameLink’s Jeff Dillon, Kevin from TrafficPartner, and Alisya from TrafficShop, as they presented a plan for getting visitors to adult websites.

Current top techniques for “Affiliate Marketing” were revealed by Affil4You’s Ines Petersen, Flirt4Free’s Jeff Wilson, and SGMpro’s Andy Wullmer, while Jack Avalanche of Cherry Pimps,
Todd Glider of Badoink.com, and Clement of Bang.com explored “Emerging Trends in Web Tech,” laying out what 2017 will have in store for the internet and the many merchants that are seeking to profit from it.

Following the seminars, XBIZ Berlin rocked into high gear with a choice selection of “last night” frolics, including the Flirt4Free Happy Hour Social, plus the SGMpro-sponsored Webmaster Karaoke hosted by Andy Wullmer, complete with hit performances by Stinger, Mugur of Studio 20, Mitch Farber, and more.

Finally, the grand finale Berlin Bash at the legendary KitKatClub featured sexy fire breathing acts that turned up the heat and gave XBIZ Berlin attendees something to talk about as they planned their return next year for XBIZ Berlin 2017.
